Thanks for joining us for Loveskills!
The first time Shaun was a partner to someone who had survived sexual violence he was 15 years old. This put him on a path of research and experience that would span decades. He’s written songs and a book, spoke in high schools, lectured online, and created video courses all centered around understanding the impact that sexual violence has had on our society. He has dedicated the last 7 years to understanding how his role as a partner of a survivor of sexual violence has influenced the recovery and healing process of his wife Kristin. He hopes that his work and passion will help other partners understand their roles better and inspire them to join the fight and contribute their perspectives and experience to this field of study.
When Your Partner Says #metoo | Your Role and Responsibility in Their Healing
This workshop’s main intention was to prove how important the role of a partner is in the overall recovery and healing process of a survivor of sexual violence. It left participants with a better understanding of why being “trauma informed” is so vital to having healthy relationships.
This workshop closed with the practical steps of how to heal one’s self outside of the relationship so what is called a “pain feedback loop” can be avoided.
