Trauma Informed Kink

Informed consent is much more than seeking an entheusiatic “yes.” It’s about understanding how someone’s lived experience may interract with their ability to use their yes & no’s. When we are playing with kink, which is by designed intended to ellicit certain intense emotions, this level of attunement and awareness is imparative. Whether you are an experienced kinkster or newer to the game, and regardless if you identify as a top, bottom, or switch we beleive it is best for kinksters to have hand’s on experience with the nervous system in each of these roles.

Over the course of these 6 weeks we will meet for 1.5hr once a week in person.

In this 1.5hr workshop we’ll discuss and apply practical skills for:

❣️ Week 1: Nuances of trauma informed consent (looking at Power & Privilege, Substances & Intoxication, Physical & Neuro-Divergence etc.)

❣️ Week 2: Understanding the nervous system (Poly Vegal theory)

❣️Week 3: Understanding attachment (Attachment Theory)

❣️ Week 4: Kink Skills Lab (reviewing Consent Frameworks, aftercare protocol, safe words, & escalation tactics)

❣️ Week 5: Kink Skills Lab (exploring different kinks as a top & bottom, naming, noticing, and navigating our nervous system reactions)

❣️ Week 6: Kink Skills Lab (exploring different kinks as a top & bottom, naming, noticing, and navigating our nervous system reactions)
